The city of Samarkand is one of the oldest cities in Uzbekistan and the world. Samarkand has been conquered by many rulers throughout history and has been home to many cultures. The city became the capital of the Timurid state in the 14th century and became a major cultural center. Here lies the ancient and living history of the Turks and the East. There are many ancient buildings, palaces, mosques and madrasahs in the city. Each of these ancient buildings is a great history. The article examines a number of monuments located in the city of Samarkand, as well as their history, sisana and raiyats about them. Examples of these monuments are the “Gur Mir” mausoleum, “Shahi Zinda” monument, Registan square. Each of the monuments impresses the visitors with its architecture and history.
