Abstract

The article analyzes the representation of social life in Alexander Pushkin’s novel in verse “Eugene Onegin”. It examines the depiction of the Russian nobility, the social determination of characters’ behavior, and the influence of social norms on the plot development. Special attention is paid to the relationship between personal experience and social context, as well as to the author’s narrative position
