MORAL AND ETHICAL VALUES IN UZBEK AND ENGLISH PROVERBS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY

Abstract

Proverbs play a crucial role in shaping moral and ethical values within a society. This article examines the conceptual significance of proverbs in Uzbek and English cultures, analyzing their role in transmitting values, beliefs and historical traditions. By analyzing selected proverbs, this paper examines how they reflect societal attitudes towards honesty, respect, patience, and justice. A comparative approach reveals both shared human values and distinct cultural perspectives.
