This article provides a comparative linguistic analysis of Abdulhamid Cho‘lpon’s novel “Kecha va kunduz” and its English translation “Night and Day” by Christopher Fort from lexical-semantic and syntactic perspectives. The study examines cultural equivalence, functional correspondence, and stylistic fidelity in translation. It explores how Cho‘lpon’s artistic style, national lexicon, and metaphorical expressions are represented in English. Findings reveal that Fort’s translation retains the semantic depth of the Uzbek text while adapting it to the readability and rhythm of English prose.
