Abstract

This article examines gender as a social category, distinguishing it from biological sex. While sex is a biological phenomenon, gender is a socially constructed concept. Translators in literary translation study the social relationships between men and women and the historical development of the concept of gender. The notion of gender is widely applied in modern linguistics and remains an urgent issue in both research and practice.
