Mahmud Kashgari, Central Asian Renaissance, literature, poetry, politicsAbstract
Mahmud Kashgari lived and worked in the 11th century during the Turkic Karakhanids. The Karakhanid period, which lasted for about 400 years, was of great importance in the life of Central Asia and the surrounding peoples. In the Karakhanid state, science and literature also flourished in the 10th century, as the national consciousness of the people developed and grew. Famous scientists of that time - Khorezm, Khojand, Yusuf Khos Hajib, Farobi, Ibn Sina, Beruni - lived and worked in the region. The emergence of such wise, talented and highly spiritual scientists indicates that the Renaissance in Central Asia began several centuries earlier than the European Renaissance.
