QADIMGI VA ESKI TURK BITIKLARIDA TABG‘ACH VA QITANY (XITOY) TOPONIMLARI MASALASI

Abstract

This article analyzes the toponyms Tabgach and Qitany (China) found in ancient Turkic written monuments, in particular in the Orkhon-Enasoy inscriptions. The article highlights the historical and lexical essence of these terms, their connection with the Chinese peoples, and their place in the imagination of the Turkic world. It also shows how these toponyms are interpreted in the written sources of the Karakhanid period - the works of Mahmud Kashgari and Yusuf Khos Hajib. The study aims to analyze the semantic, historical and cultural characteristics of toponyms and reveal the connections of the Turkic peoples with Chinese civilization.
