Abstract

Proverbs are a rich national and spiritual heritage that contains the intelligence, long-term life experience and worldview of the people. They often reflect the feelings of a particular nation, its views on life, its advice for the upbringing of the younger generation, and its philosophical ideas. However, over time, the meanings of some words and phrases in them change. Some words may go out of use and be replaced by another lexical unit. The study of such cases is considered extremely important from the point of view of linguistics, because these changes also reflect the way in which the national language and culture change.
