Abstract

This article is devoted to a comparative study of plant names with the same etymology in the Uzbek and Turkish languages. The study analyzes the semantic, phonetic and morphological features of plant names with a common Turkic root in both languages. The article identifies the commonalities and differences of plant names in the Uzbek and Turkish languages using lexical-semantic analysis, etymological analysis and comparative-typological methods. The results show that the majority of plant names in both languages belong to the common Turkic lexical layer, which have undergone mainly phonetic changes, but the main semantic content has been preserved. The study is important for understanding lexical connections between Turkic languages.
