Abstract

The main function of a newspaper is to deliver prompt, reliable, and expressive information about events and activities taking place in society. In the context of globalization, fulfilling this task has become increasingly complex. The newspaper language, characterized by its syntactic, lexical, and stylistic diversity, provides a rich basis for linguistic analysis. Various genres such as news reports, articles, interviews, correspondences, reviews, sketches, feuilletons, and pamphlets intersect and complement one another within publicistic discourse. In particular, minor genres such as sketches and correspondences play a significant role in integrating the richness of spoken language into written literary expression. The unity of promptness, expressiveness, and accessibility, along with the combination of informative and emotional elements, defines the linguistic system of newspapers. The interaction and integration of publicistic genres contribute notably to the functional and stylistic development of the modern Uzbek literary language.
