Abstract

This thesis provides information about frame analysis, which is actively used in cognitive linguistics. A diagrammatic version of the process of implementing frame analysis is presented. The frame analysis of character-expressing units, which are called anthropomorphisms in world linguistics, is discussed, and frame diagrams are provided, reflecting the primary and secondary meanings of the Uzbek word “tulki” and the secondary meaning of the English word “fox”. The common and specific aspects of the Uzbek and English words “tulki” are also discussed.
