for her child. The emotions of Turkic mothers are alike – their sorrows resonate, and their joys
are shared. While singing lullabies, they not only express their hopes and dreams for their children
but also introduce them to the world and the material surroundings. The image of the cradle as
the child’s first dwelling comes to life in these maternal songs.
