Abstract

This article investigates geographical terms related to the field of
biogeography in Turkic languages. Biogeography is the science that studies the geographical
distribution of living organisms and the factors influencing this distribution. The study analyzes
key biogeographical terms (e.g., biogeography, biome, flora, fauna, habitat, ecosystem, endemic
species) used in various Turkic languages from both semantic and etymological perspectives. It is
noted that these terms are employed both in scientific discourse and in the natural spoken language
across Turkic-speaking communities. The article also emphasizes the need for comparative study
and standardization of these terms across different Turkic languages.
