This article presents a comparative analysis of phonetic changes observed in
selected words from the dialect of Nurobod village, Gʻallaorol district, Jizzakh region. Lexical
units of the dialect are compared with their counterparts in the literary language and other
dialects. The comparative analysis draws on sources such as “Devonu lugʻotit turk” and the
“Dictionary of Uzbek Folk Dialects”. The study, supported by factual examples, elucidates the
dialect’s affiliation with the Kipchak dialect group, as well as such phenomena as consonant
alternations, sound dropping, insertion, and substitution
