Abstract

This article analyzes the folklore of seasonal rituals of the Uzbek
people and the issue of their classification. The study highlights the close connection of
seasonal rituals with natural phenomena, the seasons of the year, and the labor activities
of the people. It also comparatively examines the issue of classifying seasonal rituals in
Uzbek folklore studies based on the views of various scholars. As a result of the research,
it is substantiated that, in order to develop a more comprehensive classification of seasonal
ritual folklore, it is necessary to systematically consider rituals related to different systems
of year reckoning.
