Abstract

This article is devoted to the analysis of the artistic and functional significance
of folk language elements – proverbs, expressions and permanent epithets – in the epic poem
“Ravshan”.During the study, the role of these units in the composition of the epic, their role in
forming the system of images, and their ability to give the epic text the national spirit and
naturalness inherent in oral creativity are highlighted. The strengthening of moral criteria
through proverbs,
the enhancement of the expressiveness of the image with the help of expressions,
and the typicalization of epic images with permanent epithets are shown on the basis of the
evidence.
