Abstract

This article analyzes the formation of Turkic heroic characters in
modern Uzbek literature through the example of Isajon Sultan’s historical novel Bilga
Khagan. The study examines the artistic interpretation of historical figures such as Bilga
Khagan, Kul Tigin, Tonyukuk, and Kur Shad, as well as their role in expressing national
consciousness and the idea of statehood. The paper also explores the artistic functions of
historicism, psychologism, dialogue, nature imagery, and symbolic representations in the
novel. Particular attention is paid to the writer’s ability to combine the spirit of ancient
Turkic inscriptions with modern artistic thinking.
