Abstract

This article examines the cognitive-semantic features of riddles. The
riddle is one of the means of stereotyping the associative mechanism of cognitive metaphor
realized in language. As segments of the linguistic picture of the world, riddles, as a rule,
create cognitive metaphorical models, which forms the main content and essence of the
article.
