Abstract

This article examines the symbolic representation of Adam, Eve, and their descendants in the works of the great thinker Alisher Navoi, in relation to the concept of adamism developed by a group of Russian poets in the early 20th century. Despite the suppression and eventual prohibition of adamism during the Soviet era, the study highlights its development within global literature and literary scholarship. The article demonstrates that the core principle of adamism is the interpretation of humanity’s potential to return to an ideal state.
The image of Adam is analyzed as a central motif in Navoi's works, where it is utilized to promote the concept of the perfect human being. The study argues that one of the defining features of adamism in Navoi's poetry is the portrayal of Adam as a symbol of originality, purity, and an expanded poetic potential. Furthermore, the article asserts that Navoi's works conform to the theoretical principles of poetics, meeting the established criteria for literary excellence
