The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the linguistic study of the works of Botu (Mahmud Hodiyev), a prominent representative of Jadid literature. In particular, drawing on the scholarly views presented in the studies by Y. Saidov and M. To‘xtaboyeva, the linguistic features of the poet’s works, his mastery in the use of synonyms, the formation of similes, and their artistic load within context are examined. Based on a comparative analysis of the two studies, the distinctive methodological approaches and research outcomes adopted by the scholars in addressing the issue are described.
