Abstract

This article analyzes the process of creation, theoretical foundations and historical and cultural significance of the “Khatti Baburiy” script created by Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur from a scientific point of view. The study highlights the graphic structure of this script, its differences from the traditional Arabic writing system and the needs that led to its creation. Also, the issue of the introduction of this script among the general public is assessed based on historical sources and the views of researchers. As a result of the analysis, it is determined that the Khatti Baburiy script was used mainly in the palace environment and in literary and aesthetic circles, and the possibility of introducing it among the people as a mass writing system was limited. This article serves to determine the place of “Khatti Baburiy” in the development of Uzbek writing culture and the art of calligraphy
