In today’s era of globalization and rapid information exchange, the incidence of offenses committed through verbal actions has risen considerably. The widespread use of digital communication, along with the pervasive influence of the Internet and social media in daily life, has rendered language a critical instrument within the legal domain. Accordingly, the intersection of linguistics and jurisprudence has become an essential area of study. This paper explores linguistic expertise as a distinct branch of applied linguistics, examining its historical origins, key developmental stages, and current applications within judicial practice. Special emphasis is placed on the linguistic analysis employed to identify verbal offenses, establish the authorship of anonymous messages, and interpret legal texts with precision and reliability.
