This article elucidates the theoretical and practical foundations of the cognitive approach in analyzing anthroponyms. In cognitive linguistics, the conceptual structure of anthroponyms is examined from a semantic-functional perspective. Using Uzbek anthroponyms as examples, the article illustrates conceptual metaphors of names, their prototypical features, and their position on the mental map based on the frame method. The study demonstrates the intrinsic connection between anthroponyms and human cognition as well as national culture. In modern linguistics, examining language units not only in terms of structure or etymology but also in relation to human thought and perception has become a crucial issue. From this standpoint analyzing anthroponyms through a cognitive approach enables the revelation of semantic, cultural, and psychological layers of personal names. Anthroponyms are not merely nominative units but also linguocultural phenomena reflecting society's conceptual worldview. The cognitive approach serves as an effective methodological basis for identifying the mental characteristics, conceptual structure, and semantic associations of anthroponyms
Zarnigor

The article is devoted to the analysis of Z.M. Babur’s personality as a symbol of the integration of various cultural traditions spanning the territories from Turkestan to the Indian subcontinent. From a historical and cultural perspective, Babur became a key figure who played an important role in the integration and mutual influence of different peoples, languages, religions, and customs. He was not only a military leader but also a person genuinely interested in cultural diversity, which was reflected in his governance and personal life. The article examines various aspects of cultural exchange and the blending of traditions that occurred against the backdrop of his conquests and diplomatic efforts. Babur not only strengthened political ties between different regions but also actively promoted the introduction of cultural elements, such as Persian poetry, Turkmen traditions, and Indian artistic forms, into every aspect of his state. Special attention is given to his personal experience of living among diverse cultures, which contributed to the formation of a unique cultural bridge between Central Asia and India. The study also explores the significance of the Babur-nama (his autobiography), which has become an important source for understanding cultural interactions and traditions, and demonstrates how Babur perceived these various cultural elements and used them to create a harmonious society that became the foundation for the future Mughal dynasty. Thus, Babur appears not merely as a conqueror but as a cultural mediator whose legacy continues to influence the development of arts, literature, and political thought for several centuries.
Raxima

This article examines equivalence and adequacy issues in translating psycho-emotional units (lexical and phraseological expressions of a character’s inner state) from Uzbek literary texts into English. The study argues that such units are semantically multilayered – combining denotative meaning with connotation, stylistic coloring, pragmatic effect, and culture-specific codes—therefore the translator’s task cannot be reduced to finding dictionary matches. Instead, the translator must reconstruct the emotional-expressive background that animates the character’s “inner portrait” in the target text. The analysis is based on selected examples from Abdulla Qodiriy’s O‘tkan kunlar in Mark E. Reese’s English translation (Bygone Days) and Cho‘lpon’s Kecha va kunduz in Christopher Fort’s translation (Night and Day). Psycho-emotional units are classified into four groups: (1) direct emotion-naming lexemes; (2) indirect context-driven state markers; (3) somatic-psychological metaphors centered on “heart/soul” imagery; and (4) intonational-syntactic devices that intensify tension. The findings show that English translations frequently rely on modulation, paraphrase, expressive amplification, compensation, and functional equivalents to achieve adequacy, while literal correspondence often fails to produce a natural and equally impactful reading. The conclusion emphasizes that the principle of the “closest natural equivalent” is inseparable from preserving style and reader impact in the translation of psychoemotional meanings.
Niluzar

In the article, the central concept of translation theory, the scientific interpretation of the theory of equivalence, is analyzed in depth. Based on the views of Vilen Komissarov, the linguistic, semantic, stylistic, and pragmatic layers of equivalence are elucidated. The study provides a scholarly justification for the idea that achieving absolute correspondence in the translation process is impossible; however, preserving semantic proximity, functional correspondence, and aesthetic impact constitutes the translator’s primary task. The text demonstrates that equivalence is a multifaceted phenomenon that extends beyond formal word-level correspondence and is closely linked to cultural context, communicative purpose, and the effect on the reader. Furthermore, adequacy is explained as a process-oriented category, whereas equivalence is interpreted as a result-oriented one; their interrelationship and role in translation practice are also substantiated from an academic perspective
Mahmadiyor

This article provides a source-oriented and historicallexicographic analysis of the use of “Boburnoma” in the two-volume “Comparative Dictionary of Turkic–Tatar Dialects” compiled by Lazar Budagov, a prominent figure in the history of nineteenth-century Turkology. The study highlights the significance of “Boburnoma” as an important written source reflecting the real linguistic usage of the Chagatai language in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries and examines how the lexical units recorded in the work are represented in Budagov’s dictionary. Based on the material drawn from “Boburnoma”, the article demonstrates the role of contextual examples in ensuring the semantic precision of the dictionary entries, as well as in determining their historical scope of usage and etymological layers. In addition, the source-study value of the examples cited from “Boburnoma” is substantiated with regard to elucidating the historical development of Old Uzbek (Chagatai) vocabulary and to identifying the functional and socio-political meanings of lexical units.
This study offers a critical sociolinguistic and interdisciplinary analysis of the concept of the “language gene” associated with FOXP2. The paper argues for a clear distinction between the neurobiological functions of FOXP2 and the social nature of language. While FOXP2 contributes to the biological capacity for speech production, language itself is shaped through social interaction and communicative practice. Drawing on Chomsky’s theory of biological preparedness and Labov’s sociolinguistic framework, the study demonstrates that FOXP2 should not be treated as a direct explanatory factor in linguistics, but rather as an interdisciplinary concept delimiting the biological conditions of linguistic activity
Dilrabo Elova

http://conferences.tsuull.uz/index.php/conferences/article/view/1207

Fatih Sultan Mehmed Khan, the most eminent sultan of the Ottoman Empire, and Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur Shah, the founder of the Mughal dynasty, altered the course of history and reshaped international balances of power. Both rulers stand at the pinnacle of Turkish, Islamic, and world history. There are numerous parallels between Fatih Sultan Mehmed Khan—who conquered Constantinople at the age of twenty-one—and Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur Shah, who seized the Indian territories and rapidly established a vast and powerful empire. The two sovereigns shared many distinguishing characteristics: their education; their commitment to knowledge, wisdom, literature, art, history, and technology; their achievements in governance and warfare; their personal talents and virtues; their political acumen; and their military courage. Particularly noteworthy is their closeness to scholars and Sufi masters, their reverence for learned and spiritual authorities, and their association with the spiritual guidance and patronage of Khwāja ‘Ubaydullāh Ahrār, one of the foremost Sufi figures of their age, whose influence is regarded as significant in their historic victories. The enduring vitality and success of both the Ottoman and Mughal empires across vast geographies were profoundly shaped by the personalities and distinctive qualities of these two rulers. This paper aims to provide an overview of Fatih and Babur—two of the most significant rulers in world history—and to evaluate their shared and comparable attributes
Yavuz

Culture is a broad concept encompassing the traditions, customs, lifestyles, history, and beliefs of societies. A country's geography, political structure, economy, way of life, and perspective on art-in short, every aspect of its existence-constitutes its culture. On the other hand, cultural heritage is the sum of abstract and non-abstract, tangible and intangible elements accumulated by a society from the past to the present. Ali Şir Nevai, a valuable figure in Turkish culture-a poet, writer, statesman, and linguist-contributed to humanity and society through his works, making him a universal cultural ambassador. His role as a state official, establishing foundations and madrasas, and leaving behind rich cultural values that have reached us today, demonstrates his service-oriented approach and his universality through his contributions to cultural heritage. This study aims to promote Ali Şir Nevai nationally and internationally through souvenir designs. In today's societies, Ali Şir Nevai's contribution to the cultural development of his time, inspired by his love story of Ferhat and Şirin, and sometimes by the mathematical digging of a mountain for water, can be brought to the present day through the creation of souvenirs using miniatures, illumination, weaving, and various materials (CNC, 3D printers), employing modern production techniques. This approach, which honors his memory, his works, and his contributions to cultural heritage, is a significant step towards cultural sustainability
BegicBegich

Baburnama is not merely a memoir recording political and military events within Turkish-Islamic historiography; it is a unique work that distinguishes itself from the classical chronicle tradition with its detailed descriptive language, subject-centered narrative, and psychological depth. This study aims to examine the descriptive language used in Baburnama and to reveal the function of description within historical narrative. The work, analyzed using qualitative text analysis, has been examined in the context of geographical, social, and psychological descriptions. As a result of the examination, it has been concluded that Babur's descriptive language integrates historical facts with subjective experience, moving beyond objective record; in this respect, Baburnama constitutes an important example of early autobiographical historical narrative
Mexmet

In this study, the structural organization of the text found on folios 272–292 of the India section of Baburname, Babur Shah’s memoir written in the genre of autobiography, is examined in broad outline. Within the scope of the paper, this section has been reread using a method that has been almost never applied in studies conducted to date. This method focuses on the analysis of the contexts of language uses corresponding to what is termed pragmatics in Turkish linguistics (edimbilim), particularly on examining the relationships between sentences and the contexts and situations in which they are used. Our aim in approaching Baburname from the perspective of textual construction is to understand, th presenting the geography in which he lived, and his evaluation and formulation of information. Although Baburname is a historical written text, within a textual construction characteristic of the memoir genre it also reflects features of oral communication. Its short, fluent, simple, sequential, coordinated, and subordinated sentences, as well as its nested, conditional, and kim-relative compound sentences that gain meaning according to context, create rich contextual layers. These features have ensured that Baburname remains a historical work that continues to be read today.
Tanju Seyhan

This study examines the semantics of ethnic names and geographical terms used in the Baburnama. Ethnic names such as Türk, Özbek, Sardis, and Mongol appearing in the text are often not clearly defined and vary depending on the context. For example, where the people of Andijan are referred to as Türks, another section mentions battles with Özbeks. This demonstrates the ambiguity and variability in ethnic designations of the period. However, some records, such as the Ferghana province, where geographical boundaries are described in detail, clarify the ethnic and geographical perceptions of the period. http://conferences.tsuull.uz/index.php/conferences/article/view/1188

This article examines the Baburnama by Zahir-ud-din Muhammad Babur from literary-linguistic and historical-sociological perspectives. As an autobiographical chronicle written in Chagatai Turkic, the Baburnama occupies a distinctive position at the intersection of literature, linguistics, and history. The study aims to identify the narrative, stylistic, and linguistic features of the text and to analyze its value as a source for reconstructing the social, political, and cultural realities of the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. The research is based on interdisciplinary methods, including literary analysis, linguistic examination, and historical-sociological interpretation. The findings demonstrate that the Baburnama combines expressive literary form with detailed documentation of governance, social hierarchy, military organization, and everyday life. The results highlight the significance of language contact, cultural interaction, and authorial subjectivity in shaping the narrative. The article concludes that the Baburnama should be regarded not only as a literary masterpiece but also as an important source of sociolinguistic and historical data, contributing to the study of cultural memory and identity in the medieval Turkic and Indo-Persian world
Ercan Karayeva

Poetic arts are considered one of the components of oriental lyrics, decorating speech, highlighting its unique aspects, and serving as a means for beautiful and meaningful expression of thought. Poetic arts are widely used mainly in classical poetry, sometimes in prose, and are still used in modern literature. In classical literature, in particular, in the works of Alisher Navoi and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, there are several types of word art such as talmeh, tajnis, iyhom, tazod, tanosib, which, when studied, we understand how beautiful our artistic language, the classical Uzbek language, is. The article discusses the use of talmeh art in the ghazas of Navoi and Babur and its socio-educational significance, and analyzes it using the example of couplets
Nargiza

This article analyzes the theoretical foundations and developmental stages of the phenomenon of parcellation. In Russian linguistics (Y. V. Vannikov, V. G. Gak, and others), the functions of parcellation in creating emotional expressiveness, emphasis, and rhythm have been substantiated. In Uzbek linguistics, this phenomenon was initially interpreted in connection with appositive constructions, but in the works of I. Toshaliyev, A. Gafforov, and Sh. Haydarov it has been studied as an independent syntactic unit. Sh. Haydarov analyzes parcellation in terms of the base and the parcellated segment, demonstrating its role in ensuring semantic coherence and expressiveness in literary texts. In conclusion, it is emphasized that parcellation is not only a stylistic device, but also a cognitive model that enhances effectiveness in text perception.
Nargiza

In this study, the linguistic features of Kazakh Turkish during its process of becoming a written language in the early twentieth century are examined. The analysis is based on the work Läylï-Mecnün Ḳıṣṣaṣı, and the phonetic, morphological, and orthographic features present in the text are evaluated. It is observed that elements of the Chagatai Turkish tradition coexist with features specific to Kazakh Turkish. The occurrence of the same word in different forms indicates that the standardization of the written language had not yet been fully established during this period. In this respect, the work constitutes an important source reflecting both the historical development of Kazakh Turkish and the linguistic characteristics of the transitional period
Senbek

The Battle of Ankara (1402), one of the most critical turning points in Turkish history, has been represented within different discursive frameworks in both the Eastern Turkic world (the Timurid– Uzbek tradition) and the Western Turkic world (Ottoman historiography). This study aims to comparatively examine how the Battle of Ankara is narrated in Uzbek and Ottoman sources through the method of discourse analysis.
This article is devoted to a comparative-typological study of the formation patterns of complex word combinations in the Uzbek and English languages. The relevance of the research is determined by the necessity of analyzing the hierarchical structure of multi-component syntactic units in languages with different linguistic typologies, specifically analytical (English) and agglutinative (Uzbek). The paper provides a comprehensive overview of the structural-semantic characteristics of chain-like constructions, the specific manifestation of head-dependent relationships within them, and the linguistic transformations that occur during this process. Utilizing transformational analysis and comparative methods, the research examines the challenges of maintaining semantic and formal equivalence when translating multi-component English phrases into Uzbek. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the development of hierarchical models for complex word combinations and the identification of effective methods for their natural expression in the target language. The findings of this study contribute significantly to the enrichment of translation theory and serve as a practical guide for translation students in developing professional skills for analyzing complex syntactic structures and achieving translational adequacy
Sabohat

This thesis examines the linguistic, semantic, and linguocultural features of expressing aesthetic evaluation in the Uzbek language. Aesthetic evaluation represents a subjective-objective attitude formed through the perception of reality, the understanding of beauty and ugliness, and the interpretation of human qualities. In Uzbek, aesthetic meanings are conveyed through various linguistic devices such as epithets, metaphors, proverbs, idioms, polysemantic words, and evaluative adjectives. The study analyzes aesthetic judgment in relation to physical appearance, inner qualities, morality, behavior, and cultural values. Using Uzbek folk proverbs, literary texts, and lexical materials, the article demonstrates the close connection between aesthetic evaluation, national worldview, aesthetic ideals, and socio-cultural norms. The research presents generalized scientific conclusions on how aesthetic evaluation is shaped in the Uzbek language and its role in the national aesthetic consciousness.
Shirin

The article deals with the participation of parts of speech in the formation of onomastic units in the language of cinema. It is noted that the morphological and syntactic ways of word formation in general word formation go in grammatical order. When considering from this point of view the components of onomastic units with a complex structure in the Azerbaijani language, one can find special names formed on the basis of different parts of speech. The research shows that other parts of speech in the language of cinema form special names in the process of substantiation. What is the basis of the article? It lies in the fact that the components of complex onomastic units in the language of cinema have several models for parts of speech.
Fizuli Mustafayev

It is demonstrated that Babur’s autobiographism is not limited to a simple recording of events but is expressed through narrative subjectivity, reflection, and evaluative stance, which distinguishes the work from the conventions of court chronicles. Based on selected poetic and prose excerpts, the study analyzes the modes of representing the authorial “self,” including the open expression of emotions, self-assessment of actions, religious-philosophical motifs, and the conscious use of language as a means of self-expression.
This article explores the role of the epistolary form in representing psychological resilience in literary and historical texts through a comparative analytical approach. The objects of the study include the letters of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur and the epistolary elements found in the novels of Thomas Hardy and Iqbol Mirzo. The research examines the functional and semantic characteristics of the epistolary genre within Eastern and Western literary traditions, emphasizing its capacity to convey inner emotional states, psychological stability, and responses to social pressure. In Babur’s letters, the epistolary form reflects the psychological resilience of a historical figure who embodies political responsibility, moral self-discipline, and emotional restraint shaped by statecraft and cultural values. In contrast, the epistolary elements in the works of Hardy and Mirzo serve as artistic devices through which the inner struggles of fictional characters are revealed, particularly in the context of social constraints, ethical conflicts, and personal suffering. Through these texts, letters function as a medium that exposes the tension between individual consciousness and external social norms.
Zebo

This paper aims to provide an overview of Fatih and Babur—two of the most significant rulers in world history—and to evaluate their shared and comparable attributes.
Yavuz

http://conferences.tsuull.uz/index.php/conferences/article/view/1258

“Baburnama” is a unique monument in the history of Turkic literature, in which the author provides extensive and detailed information about the political events of his time, cultural life, folk traditions, cities, nature, and people. Therefore, “Baburnama” serves as a rich source not only for literary studies but also for linguistic, historical, and cultural research. In recent years, interest in this work has been steadily increasing among scholars, translators, and literature enthusiasts of Turkic-speaking peoples, particularly Turkish and Kazakh researchers. However, the presence of archaic lexical units, terms, and phraseological expressions in the text—many of which have either fallen out of use or exist in different forms in modern Turkic languages – may lead to various difficulties in comprehension. From this perspective, an explanatory dictionary of Turkish and Kazakh based on “Baburnama” offers a scholarly solution to these issues
Dilafruz Muhammadiyeva

This article analyzes the phenomenon of homonymy in the Uzbek language from a linguistic perspective. The study elucidates the essence of homonymy and, with illustrative examples, identifies its manifestations in Uzbek, including lexical homonymy, contextual (speech) homonymy, affixal homonymy, phraseological homonymy, homonymy between fixed expressions and word combinations, as well as homonymy between fixed expressions and sentences. Furthermore, the types of homonymy – namely absolute (proper) homonyms and conditional homonyms, including homographs, homoforms, and homophones – are systematically described. Particular attention is paid to a comparative analysis of the phonetic, semantic, and functional differences between homophones and paronyms. The article also discusses the role of homonymic units in discourse, their impact on the communicative process, and issues related to linguistic norms. The findings of the study are of significant scholarly value for further in-depth research on homonymy in Uzbek linguistics and for practical application in lexicography and language education
Manzura Abjalova

Also, the relatively limited interpretation of the image of a child in medieval literature and the change in its position in literature under the influence of humanistic views starting from the 17th century are considered on a scientific basis. The article reveals the functional tasks of the image of a child in the novel genre, in particular, its importance as a narrator and mediator image. In these texts, water functions not as a mere natural detail but as a central poetic mechanism expressing the characters’ inner world, memory, and moral reflection. While in Along the Water the motif symbolizes the flow of life and a spiritual journey, in Zabarjad it represents traumatic memory and psychological renewal. Thus, the water motif emerges as a key meaninggenerating concept in the poetics of both film novellas
Obidjon

The concept of plurality is a multifaceted category expressed in languages not only through morphological suffixes but also through words and word groups. In Bashkir Turkish, as in Turkic languages, plurality refers not only to numerical excess but also to an ambiguous and conceptual multiplicity whose boundaries cannot be precisely defined. A review of the literature reveals that studies on plurality largely focus on plural suffixes; conversely, research addressing the semantic functions of words expressing plurality and togetherness remains limited. This study aims to identify words expressing plurality and togetherness in Bashkir Turkish, which belongs to the Northwest (Kipchak) group of Turkic dialects, and to examine their semantic characteristics.
Kaan Aleyna

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the naturerelated lexis employed in the encyclopedic work «Baburnama» by the prominent statesman and poet Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur. The primary objective of the research is to identify the functions of the rich flora, fauna, hydronymic, and topographic terminology of the 16th-century Chagatai Turkic within a literary context. In this research analyzes Babur’s descriptions of nature not merely as geographical data but as poetic units possessing high aesthetic value. For the first time, original Chagatai excerpts are presented alongside transliteration and philological translation into the Azerbaijani language. This approach allows for a clear visualization of the linguistic landscape of Babur’s observant-realist style. The analysis reveals that nature lexis serves as both an indicator of sociolinguistic status and a vehicle for nostalgic sentiment and exotic worldview within the text. The article is intended for specialists interested in Turkology, linguopoetics, and the history of medieval culture.
Elnura

Numerous historians, political scientists, military specialists, as well as scholars engaged in the study of the history of language, have expressed diverse views and published scholarly and popular-scientific articles and treatises on the tactics and strategy of warfare employed by Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, who made a significant contribution to the development of world military affairs and military art. Nevertheless, the fact that Babur’s army— modest in number—entered the battlefield with courage against enemy forces several times larger, as well as Babur’s development of various methods to turn the outcome of war in his own favor, his coining of appropriate military terms for these methods, and his bold implementation of them in practice, as documented in such primary sources as Baburnama and Tarikh-i Rashidi, calls for extensive specialized research. Proceeding from this observation, the present concise article examines the military tactics employed by Babur in 913 AH near Kandahar, in the locality of Khalishak, during the unequal confrontation with his brothers Shahbek and Muqim. In particular, the paper discusses Babur’s innovative arrangement of troop formations on the battlefield, the deployment of units in a completely new manner, and the terminology used to designate these military divisions
Hamidulla

Since the Tajik and Uzbek languages function in the same geographic region, it is natural that they had a beneficial influence on each other. The best example of this influence is Babur's Baburnama. Our attention has been focused on the use of Tajik vocabulary in the Baburnama, and due to space limitations, we will limit ourselves to the material of only the first part of the work, describing the events of 1494. In the above-mentioned section, Babur used about 200 Tajik words. These words can be divided into the following groups depending on their meaning: 1) words expressing the concept of kinship; 2) words expressing the concepts of statehood, weapons and armor; 3) words expressing religious and sectarian concepts; 4) words expressing concepts related to seasons, fruits and plants; 5) words denoting the names of the days of the week and related concepts; 6) words expressing the concepts of qualities and attributes; 7) words expressing various concepts; 8) auxiliary words (conjunctions).
Muso

Throughout human history, communication has developed through various tools in different periods; with the advent of written communication, the foundations of the postal system were established. First observed among the Sumerians through cuneiform clay tablets, the postal system evolved in the modern era into a structured form of communication in which services were charged through the use of stamps. Beyond being small pieces of valuable paper indicating the payment of postage, stamps have become significant communication objects that reflect the identity, history, art, cultural richness, and collective memory of the societies to which they belong through their graphic elements, portraits, symbols, and typographic features. This study examines the representation of Ali Şîr Nevâî—one of the prominent literary figures and linguistic thinkers of the Turkic world—on postage stamps. In this context, postage stamps featuring Ali Şîr Nevâî that were issued abroad have been identified. On the other hand, it has been determined that no postage stamp dedicated to Ali Şîr Nevâî has been produced in Türkiye. To address this gap, the study aims to design a series of postage stamps centered on Ali Şîr Nevâî
Begic

This article analyzes the conditions under which Akbar Shah's religious policy was formed, the essence of Din-i Ilahi, the role of religious figures and court scholars in the preparation of this idea, as well as the staunchly oppositional stance of clerics such as Imam Rabbani.
This thesis is devoted to identifying the role of conceptual thinking and linguocognitive imagery in the literary heritage of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. The study analyzes the lexical-semantic and artistic mechanisms of expression of key poetic concepts such as homeland, destiny, power, journey, and human as reflected in Babur’s works. The analysis reveals the cognitive models underlying metaphors, symbols, and figurative units employed in Baburnama and Babur’s poetic works. It is argued that the formation of concepts in Babur’s language is manifested in close interaction with personal experience, historical space, and cultural consciousness. As a result, Babur’s poetic worldview is interpreted as a significant linguocognitive phenomenon that embodies the synthesis of individual creative consciousness and collective cultural concepts within the tradition of Eastern literature. This approach makes it possible to examine Babur’s legacy not only from a historical literary perspective but also through the lens of modern linguistics and cognitive poetics.
Gulmira

The works of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, particularly «Baburnama», hold significant importance in the realm of global science and scholarship. This work serves as a valuable source of information, encompassing social and political events, as well as providing insights into geography, linguistics, literature, ethnography, medicine, history, and other fields. «Baburnama» has been translated into nearly 30 languages, highlighting the richness of its content and style. Research has been conducted on the linguistic features, lexical units, and comparative analysis of the translations of «Baburnama» in foreign languages. Furthermore, the comparison of the Uzbek and Turkish versions of «Baburnama,» particularly regarding the precise and accurate translation of expressions denoting behavior, is considered one of the pressing areas in translation studies. This is crucial as the expressions describing the appearances and behaviors of Babur’s relatives, allies, and even enemies are sufficient to evoke a clear image of them. This article aims to compare the Uzbek and Turkish versions of Babur’s work, examining the translation of words and phrases that express human behavior, assessing the translator’s skill, and identifying the successes and shortcomings of the translator concerning the raised issues.
Zilola

In today’s era of globalization and rapid information exchange, the incidence of offenses committed through verbal actions has risen considerably. The widespread use of digital communication, along with the pervasive influence of the Internet and social media in daily life, has rendered language a critical instrument within the legal domain. Accordingly, the intersection of linguistics and jurisprudence has become an essential area of study. This paper explores linguistic expertise as a distinct branch of applied linguistics, examining its historical origins, key developmental stages, and current applications within judicial practice. Special emphasis is placed on the linguistic analysis employed to identify verbal offenses, establish the authorship of anonymous messages, and interpret legal texts with precision and reliability.
Dinora

2026-03-302026-03-30101THE EMERGENCE AND LINGUISTIC TYPOLOGY OF NONVERBAL MEANS
http://conferences.tsuull.uz/index.php/conferences/article/view/1222

The article provides a comprehensive overview of the linguistic typology of nonverbal means, their formation process, and their role in the communication system. Nonverbal means of communication have existed since ancient times in the history of human development, and they have developed in close connection with oral speech. Means such as gestures, facial expressions, body movements, pauses, and intonation are outside the language units, but they carry semantic, pragmatic, and psychological significance in the communication process. From the views of the ancient Roman orators Cicero and Quintilian, to Darwin's studies of emotional expressions in the 19th century, to the theories developed by Birdwhistell and Hall in the 20th century, as well as the research of modern psychologists and linguists, the theoretical and practical aspects of this field have been widely covered. Nonverbal means are studied not only as a linguistic phenomenon, but also as a cultural, sociological, and biological phenomenon. They play a key role in building trust in interpersonal communication, establishing emotional contact, and effectively conveying information. The research analyzed the universal and national-cultural characteristics of nonverbal means, their interpretation in different contexts and their integration with language. In particular, Wundt's views on sound language and sign language, as well as the connection between body movements and human character put forward by Delsarte, deserve special attention. The article aims to deeply reveal the linguistic, psychological and sociocultural aspects of nonverbal means.
Gulrux

This article examines the issue of modeling a database of allusive names based on the semantic field framework. It explains that the systematic compilation of allusive names, the identification of their semantic layers, and the development of a structural model grounded in the principles of semantic field theory constitute an essential stage in the formation of an intertextual thesaurus. Within the study, a multi-level model of an allusive names database is proposed through the integration of semantic field theory and the thesaurus approach.
Zarifa

This article explores the interpretation of Uzbek mining terminology from the perspective of modern linguistics and digital lexicography using a thesaurus-based approach. The study is based on materials from a modern monolingual dictionary of mining terms(Contemporary dictionary of Uzbek mining terms) currently being developed in the Uzbek language. In this dictionary or thesaurus, particular attention is given to issues of semantic ambiguity, polysemy, structural inconsistency of terms, and the need for a systematic identification of lexical-semantic relations within the terminological system. The findings of this study of Uzbek mining terms demonstrate that the thesaurus model provides an effective framework for the normative, consistent, and systematic description of mining terminology, contributing to improved terminological standardization and information retrieval in digital environments
Maftuna

http://conferences.tsuull.uz/index.php/conferences/article/view/1180

This article examines the role of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur’s (1483–1530) heritage in the development of Oriental statecraft and culture. By transplanting Timurid traditions to South Asia and founding the Mughal Empire, Babur’s political pragmatism, military innovations (artillery and cavalry tactics), centralized monarchy model, and principles of religious tolerance shaped a new paradigm of Oriental statehood. Through the unique autobiographical style of “Boburnoma”, his poetic works, the transfer of the Timurid charbagh tradition to India, and transcultural exchanges (trade, Sufi migration, culinary synthesis), he significantly contributed to the expansion of the Perso-Turkic cultural synthesis. The study highlights the continued relevance of Babur’s legacy in imperial history, transcultural relations, and cultural synthesis processes, emphasizing the importance of its research and promotion in independent Uzbekistan for fostering patriotism and intellectual development among the younger generation
ShavkatjonAloxon

This thesis is devoted to a comparative linguistic investigation of the cognitive–discursive mechanisms underlying the formation of concepts and conceptual spheres in various literary discourses. In the study, a concept is interpreted as a linguo-cognitive unit, while a conceptual sphere is viewed as a semantic and axiological macrosystem formed within the framework of discourse. Drawing on the integration of cognitive and discursive approaches, the research elucidates how concepts are activated in literary texts, how they interact with one another, and how they collectively construct an integrated conceptual sphere. The comparative analysis identifies invariant and variable features of conceptual organization across different types of literary discourse.
Solijon

The article is devoted to the study of phraseological units expressing emotional states (sadness, joy, anger, fear, love) in the main work of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur “Babur-nama” and other creative heritage, including ghazals and rubais. In Babur's prose and poetic texts, phraseologisms serve not only to enhance emotional expressiveness but also as a means of vividly and figuratively describing historical events. The research analyzes the predominance of somatic components (heart/ko'ngil, eyes, soul), their function in lyrical and autobiographical style. The results demonstrate the place of Babur's language in Uzbek phraseology and the richness of emotional speech
Hulkar

This article examines the linguocognitive features of phytonym‑based paroemias in Uzbek and English from a comparative perspective. Plant names in paroemias function as culturally salient lexical triggers that activate shared knowledge about nature, human experience, and value systems. Working within an anthropocentric paradigm, the study models the conceptual mappings that motivate phytonymic paremias and describes their cognitive functions in discourse. The analysis is organized around three recurrent cognitive models such as “human→phytonym”, “life→phytonym”, and “activity→phytonym” and three clusters of cognitive functions: aesthetic evaluation and the promotion of beauty, the promotion of thinking and reasoning, and the representation of social action and processes. The findings highlight both universal metaphorical patterns (growth, roots, harvest) and culture‑specific profiles shaped by local ecology, agriculture, and sociohistorical experience. The paper also outlines translation‑relevant implications arguing that successful rendering of phytonymic paremias requires attention to conceptual equivalence rather than literal lexical substitution
Komila

In this article, the artistic interpretation of baburid history is analyzed based on the novels belonging to the “Empire of the Moghul” series written by the English author Alex Rutherford. The study examines the literary reconstruction of the baburid rulers and the historical events that took place around them within the fictional narrative. The novels vividly depict the challenges faced by the six great baburid emperors, first in the process of “building a great empire” and later in preserving it, as well as the formation of their images as literary characters in the reader’s perception. At the same time the author’s contribution to the popularization of baburid history within the traditions of the Western historical novel is revealed. The results of the study serve as an important resource for the scholarly investigation of the literary representation of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur and baburid history, as well as for the study of the historical novel as a genre
Karomat Mohida

In classical literary works, particularly in Babur’s lyric poetry, the inclusion of fragments related to other texts within the poetic text occurs frequently through various methods. This phenomenon, evaluated as intertextuality, is widely manifested in poetic texts in the form of allusion. Allusion occupies a distinctive place in the creative works of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur as well. In the present study, we analyze allusive names found in some of the poet’s ghazals and discuss their main functions within the poetic text.
Maxfuzaxon
